The University of Antwerp ranks top 20 of the 50 best young universities

date: 10 July 2012

The University of Antwerp is ranked number 15 in the list of top 50 young universities according to Quacquerelli-Symonds (QS) World University Rankings.

The University of Antwerp was number 197 in the general Quacquerelli-Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, but was able to secure a nice number at the top when competing with only its younger counterparts. A “young” university is one that was founded only since the year 1962. The University of Antwerp was founded in 2003 – an efficient compilation of collages formerly known as RUCA, UFSIA, and UIA.

For existing only 9 years receiving the 15th ranking is an honor. The University of Antwerp was the only Belgian university eligible for ranking in the top 50 young universities, but the oldest university of our country; the KU Leuven, received an impressive ranking of 67th  in the top World University Rankings.
