  • Jane Goodall in Brussels on May 7

    This year, the British primatologist Jane Goodall celebrates 80 years. For 60 years she has dedicated her work and life to protecting animals (especially chimpanzees) and their environment. The Jane Goodall Institute Belgium intends to honor the United Nations' messenger of peace at her next visit to Belgium. Come and celebrate her birthday on May 7 2014 at the Théâtre National in Brussels.

  • Didier Reynders expresses his condolences following South Korean ferry disaster

    It is with great sadness that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders learned of the tragic shipwreck of the ferry Sewol off Byeongpoong island in South Korea. He offers his condolences to the parents of the many children as well as the families and friends of the victims. He hopes that there is a chance that more survivors can be saved.

  • Didier Reynders condemns cowardly attack on Emmanuel de Mérode in DRC

    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders learned with dismay about the cowardly attack against Emmanuel de Mérode, Director of the Virunga National Park in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). De Mérode was shot and wounded in the afternoon of 15 April while on the road between Goma and Rumangabo in eastern DRC.
