  • The Egmont Institute moves

    The Egmont Institute recently moved to the buildings of the Belgian Foreign Affairs, located at 24 Rue des Petits Carmes. What is it about? It is an independent think tank where Belgian and foreign experts research on interdisciplinary issues. It offers analyses, as well as the most operationally possible international political options. The Egmont Institute is also well-known for its seminaries, lectures and publications on various subjects. This independent foundation is financed by the Belgian Foreign Affairs.

  • Didier Reynders condemns the criminal act against the Anderlecht synagogue

    The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders condemns the criminal act which targeted the Anderlecht synagogue at dawn today. The prosecution shall identify the perpetrators and determine the motives. In any case, Belgium will not tolerate anti-Semitism in its midst. The Belgian authorities will fight with civil society the causes and manifestations of anti-Semitism. The reality and vividness of anti-Semitism today should be acknowledged.

  • Didier Reynders about the murder of David Haines and the Paris conference on Iraq

  • Didier Reynders calls on Russia to release Estonian police officer

    The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders, just as High Representative Catherine Ashton, is concerned about the abducation of an Estonian police officer by Russian security forces on Estonian territory. Such action runs against international law and the principle of inviolability of borders. Didier Reynders calls on the Russian authorities to release Eston Kohver immediately.

    The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders congratulates Jean-Claude Juncker for the announcement on 10 September of the portfolios of the next European Commission. The new team will appear in hearings before the European Parliament in the coming weeks.
