  • B-Fast will return from Nepal on Monday in a Dutch airplane

    02 May Press release

    The B-Fast Coordination Council, together with the team leader in Nepal, decided that the Belgian aid team will return to our country. B-Fast will return in a Dutch transport plane, together with the Dutch USAR team, on Monday 4 May.

  • Tolerance trumps hate!

    30 Apr News item

    What is tolerance exactly? Belgium is organizing a conference entitled “Tolerance trumps hate”. It will be held in Brussels on 8 May. The 47 Member States of the Council of Europe are invited to this event to reaffirm their commitment and continue their efforts to promote tolerance and fight against hate speech. Through this conference, the Belgian Chairmanship hopes to adopt a common policy action and recommendations aiming at tackling the underlying causes of radicalization and extremism. The fight against hatred concerns everyone!

  • Didier Reynders visits Armenia and Azerbaijan

    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders made a working visit to Yerevan and Baku between April 26 and 29, 2015. The visit took place under the Belgian Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, but also had a European and bilateral aspect.

  • Didier Reynders and Alexander De Croo concerned on the situation in Burundi

    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Development Cooperation Alexander De Croo follow with concern the situation in Burundi. Last Saturday, Belgium was one of the first countries to call for the respect of the public space and of human rights. Belgium condemns all forms of violence and intimidation against civilians, the political opposition and human rights activists. Those who commit violent acts or human rights violations will be personally held responsible.

  • 2,6 million Euros allocated to the Syrian humanitarian crisis

    28 Apr Press release

    Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Development Cooperation Alexander De Croo agreed to release 2,6 million Euros for the funding of three humanitarian projects supporting Syrian refugees. The humanitarian crisis in Syria enters its fifth year. Almost half of the Syrian population had to leave their homes and more than 3,9 million Syrians have fled to neighboring countries.
