  • Didier Reynders is pleased with the appointment of Said Djinnit as UN Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region

    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders is pleased that UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appointed Said Djinnit as Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region in Africa. Said Djinnit has already served the African Union as Special Representative of the Secretary-General and as Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa. The Minister wishes him good luck and is convinced that his experience will be useful. Said Djinnit can count on the support of Belgium.

  • Expo Text-île

    As part of the festivities of July 21, the Egmont Palace opens its doors for an exhibition “Text-île”. The four historic tapestries at the Egmont Palace, which show four continents, are the starting point for this exhibition. The exhibition explores the aspects of migration, such as colonization, refugees, the hope of a better life, the search for identity, heritage and cultural exchanges, all through facilities, videos and sculptures from five contemporary artists. The works come from Pascale Marthine Tayou, Hans Op de Beeck, Berlinde De Bruyckere, El Anatsui and Ali Kazma.
