Didier Reynders welcomes the progress in the expulsion case of a Belgian mother

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders reports that the Directorate General for Consular Affairs of the FPS Foreign Affairs this morning received the Turkish Ambassador to Belgium. During this discussion, they addressed the case of the Belgian mother who wanted to search for her son in Syria, but was stopped at the Istanbul Airport and expelled.

Following from this discussion, the woman will be received at the Consulate General of Turkey in Belgium.

Didier Reynders welcomes that the case is moving forward in this way. The Minister guarantees that the Directorate General for Consular Affairs of the FPS Foreign Affairs will remain available to the mother in her subsequent contacts.
