Francophone Film Festival 2013

The 12th edition of the Francophone Film Festival in Jamaica to be held March 23 – April 6, 2013 at the Alliance Française de la Jamaïque, 12 B Lilford avenue (off Lady Musgrave Road), Kingston 6.

It is a fruit full cooperation between the Embassies of France, of Belgium, the High Commission of Canada and the Alliance Française de Jamaïque.

For two weeks, the Jamaican public, movie enthusiasts and lovers of cultural diversity will be treated to a selection of French, Belgian, Canadian and French Caribbean cinema. On offer will be comedies, dramas, thrillers, documentaries, all of quality, with several being nominated for and winning various Film Awards.

Movies will be held every Wednesday and Saturday during the Festival at the Alliance Française de la Jamaïque. There will be one show on Wednesdays March, 27 and April, 3, at 7:30p.m. and two on Saturdays March 23 and 30, and April 6, at 7p.m and at 9p.m (see below). All movies are subtitled in English.

Contribution: $300 on Wednesdays and $500 on Saturdays. There is also a pass for the duration of the Festival at $1800.
Free entrance for Members and Students of the Alliance Française. Membership can be taken on the spot.

The dates of the event are significant as March 16-24 is celebrated internationally as French language week and March 20 is the International Day of the Francophonie (the world community of French-speaking countries).
