Didier Reynders meets with Minister Timmermans of the Netherlands on the latter’s first full day in office
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders met with his Dutch counterpart, Mr Frans Timmermans, at the Egmont Palace today. Today is Minister Timmermans’ first full day in office following the swearing in of the new Dutch government yesterday.
The two Ministers stated their shared desire to expand cooperation between the Benelux countries further, both in the European Union and within other international organisations.
Our two countries also wish to see what we can achieve together in terms of diplomatic representation, for example with regard to housing or in the field of consular services.
Cross-border cooperation can also be expanded further, as was implemented between the Belgian and French border regions.
Finally, the two Ministers expressed their wish to continue their deliberations on the future of Europe.
