Loss or stolen passport

Have you lost your passport, or has it been stolen?

Procedures differ depending on if you are in Belgium or abroad:

If you are in Belgium

1. Call Doc-Stop to cancel your passport and protect yourself against any fraudulent use of your identity: 0800 2123 2123.
2. Notify the police station where the loss or theft took place or your local municipality immediately.

If you are on holiday abroad

1. Call Doc-Stop to cancel your passport and protect yourself against any fraudulent use of your identity: +32 2 518 2123.
2. Notify the local police about the loss/theft immediately. Ask for a statement confirming the loss/theft.
3. If you need a passport to return to Belgium, contact the Belgian embassy or consulate in the country you are visiting. If there is none, contact the embassy or consulate of another EU country.
4. If you have been unable to notify the local police about the loss/theft while you were abroad, do so with your police station as soon as you return to Belgium.

If you live abroad

1. Call Doc-Stop to cancel your passport and protect yourself against any fraudulent use of your identity: +32 2 518 2123.
2. Notify your local police station abut the loss/theft immediately. Ask for a statement confirming the loss/theft.
3. Notify your embassy or consulate about the loss/theft and send them the police statement.
